TCC Art Show
Please check your time line for our TCC Show!  Paintings are to be brought to the TCC Gallery on Monday, Nov. 5th between 10 AM & 12:00, noon.  Make sure your paintings are properly framed and wired for hanging; no saw tooth hangers. You should have your contact information, title, and price of your artwork on the back of all entries.  The Artists’ Reception will be Nov. 8th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the TCC Gallery.

Scholarships Awarded
The Scholarship Committee met at the Oswald’s home to review the 13 applicants’ forms and jpgs of their portfolios.  We’re happy to announce our two recipients: Arielle Monks, a junior, and Charis Schneider, a freshman; both are art students at ORU.  Thanks to the committee of Nancy Swindler, Robin Hutchings, Karen Thompson, Carol Mulcare, Bill and Mary Oswald for all their hard work!

BIG CHANGE of Date for November Meeting
The members voted at the last meeting to change our November date because many are traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Luckily we can meet on NOVEMBER 27th, TUESDAY at the regular place and time!  Our guest speaker, Dale Martin, had this time available, so we’re good to go; mark your calendar for this change.  Please try and attend as our new officers will be introduced and it will be your last chance to sign up for our FUN Christmas Brunch and Ornament Exchange!

Program
Everyone really enjoyed October’s speaker, Dian Church, who showed her marvelous techniques for three dimensional paintings.   A special Thank you to Dian for donating her honorarium to the scholarship fund! November’s program will be Dale Martin who will be doing a demo of landscapes in pastels.

Door Prizes
Congratulations to Anna Mae Cameron for winning the delightful print donated by Jerry Yarnell and the floral watercolor door prize by Mary Oswald!  Our other door prizes for October were a rustic Windmill watercolor by Kathy Lamb won by Shelly DePriest, a darling Butterfly watercolor by Kathy Lamb won by Byrene Culver, and a striking abstract by Sharon Allred won by Marilyn Golla-Gass.
Our door prizes for November are a gorgeous southwest print by Ross Myers, a delightful photograph of Tulsa by Bill Oswald, and three striking prints by Richard Coones.  The framing of our door prizes is by Jacque Gonzales, courtesy of Ziegler’s.  Be sure to sign in for your winning chance for one of 5 door prizes!

White Elephants for a Good Cause
We working on our Scholarship fund for next year, and here is a fun way to start!  For November we are asking you to clean out those closets and find a NICE WHITE ELEPHANT!  Your White Elephant can be anything you don’t care for, but is too nice to toss (think re-gifting); we all have one or more of these goodies tucked away and this is a chance to give it a good home, and help our scholarships.  Please wrap, box, or bag your White Elephant, so no one can peek!  And yes, you can bring more than one!
Raffle tickets will be sold as usual, and the winners can choose their favorite wrapped surprise.  You’ll want to bring a couple of dollars with you to this meeting for tickets and YOU might just leave with a treasure!

Big Hugs
A big shout out to Norman Dietert, Aaron Miller, Bill Oswald, Jim Reynolds, John Fingerlin, and Ed Thompson for helping set up and take down tables at our meetings.  We’ll look for you Tuesday, Nov. 27th for our last meeting; we appreciate all your help!

November Hospitality News
Thank you! We appreciate all the members who signed up to be “Cookie Angels” and “Table-Scape Decorators!!”  We will be signing up “Angels” and Decorators for 2013, again at our November meeting; we still have months that need your help.
If you are an “Angel,” please remember that we need 3 dozen sweets (brownies, mini muffins, cookies, or any treats of your choice) for the meeting.  “Decorators” plan on arriving a little early (6:15), so we can set up the table for all our members.  Our November “Decorator” will be Deborah Kingsbury and our “Angels” are: Ruth Ann Murdock, Clyde Williams, Glenda Moon and Joyce Sandifer. See you on Nov. 27th with your goodies.
We had a fall flare to our October meeting thanks to decorator, Janie Crean.  Many thanks for those delicious goodies provided by our October “Angels”: Jean Kelly, Mary Maslanka, Donna Powell, and Carol Mulcare.

Christmas Brunch and Ornament Exchange
Our November meeting will be the last time for you to sign up and receive a Christmas bulb to decorate for our Christmas Brunch and Ornament Exchange.  Since we have limited room, this event is for MEMBERS ONLY.  You will be ordering off the “First Watch” menu and can have a great meal for under $10.00.   We will meet at 11:00 AM in their private room on Saturday, Dec. 1st at the Lewis and 81st street location.  Plan on joining the fun!

It’s that time of year…time to pay our yearly dues.  Please fill out the Dues Form with your current information and be sure to check all areas where you can volunteer for the club.  You can send your $25.00 check and form to Byrene or pay her at our November meeting.  Thanks!

Nov. Board Meeting
Our last ART Board Meeting will be held Thursday. Nov. 8th due to the TCC show load in on Monday.  We’ll meet at Ziegler’s; our regular time at 10:30 am and goodies will be provided!   Thanks!

Happy Trails
As Richard Coones said, the key word for this year was FUN; and that was so true!  I had terrific officers and an enthusiastic board that let me implement some new ideas for our club.  My goal was to make our meetings enjoyable, a fun place to learn, and socialize with other artists.  Our programs have been fabulous, our door prizes fantastic, our Angels out did themselves with delicious treats, and our shows have been awesome.  Many members stepped up to help whenever we needed an extra set of hands as well. All these things added up to a very successful year!
However, due to the escalation of my health problems, I am unable to continue as your president.  I would like to thank all the members for your support, and thank you for letting me take reins of the club and lead it in a new direction as your president for 2012!         So to all of you…..Happy Trails!   Janie
