Alpha Rho Tau General Meeting Minutes

June 18, 2018





President, Randy Oxley, called the meeting to order at 5:00p.m., Hardesty Library, Pecan Room.

There were 5 new members and one guest present.

Hostess chairperson Becky Faust needs help with taking the coffee thermos home after each meeting and bringing it to the next meeting  with  fresh coffee(ART will reimburse for cost of coffee).



Minutes for May meeting were approved by all.



Randy presented the Treasurers report for Charlene Pennington in her absence:  Beg. Bal. $$6658.70, deposits $150.00, expenses $5.01, ending bal. $6803.69.  Scholarship fund $2601.00.  123 members to date.



Linda Dunbar, chairperson for Plein Air Tulsa explained the 3 day event in October at Post Oak Lodge.

Applications are available and donations welcome.



Exhibit chairperson, Todd Sparks suggested we have a closing reception for the PAC exhibit.  Deadline for the Woody Guthrie show is at our next general meeting on July 16th.

Drop off for the “The Landscape” exhibit at the CottageGallery  is July 1.7-9pm.  Opening reception is Saturday, July 7, 7-9pm.



Ken Brown, Publicity chairperson announced the need for email addresses for A.R.T. to send out for our shows. 



Art sharing:  Jane Lair, beautiful paintings of Florida and Tulsa!



Mary Oswald won the 18X24’ gallery wrapped canvas.

Short break.

Karen St. Clair introduced our guest speaker, Marjorie Atwood.  She talked about gold leaf on her paintings.  Very interesting!



Randy announced the winners of the Sapulpa Art Show:  Best in show, Shelly DePriest.  Professional: JoBeth Force, 1st and 3rd place in watercolor, Shelly DePriest, 1st in oil, Kathy Soliday, 3rd in mixed media.

Non-Professional:  Susan Marple, 3rd place in oil, Glenda Maxey, Honorable mention in acrylic, Charlotte Lough, 1st Place in Graphics, Roberta  Nevels, 2nd in Black and White Photography and 3rd place in Graphic Design.



Karen St. Clair announced our next presenter for the July meeting  will be Nancy Harkin.



Door prizes:  16X20 giclee-Ken Brown, Cookie table centerpiece-Judy McMean,  Lion print-Linda Godbold, painting by Janie Crean-Janette Meetze.



Meeting was adjourned at 6:40p.m.
