Alpha Rho Tau Newsletter

September, 2012

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

Thanks to Karen Lamb for her donation of watercolor paintings by her mother, Kathy Lamb. Thanks to Jacques Gonzales for donating a darling flower arrangement to the raffle table and to Deborah Kingsbury for her donation of a brand new portable wood easel!  These two great items will be on the raffle table for September @ $1.00 per ticket.  You also will have the opportunity to win a Jerry Yarnell print which he donated to the club.  This will be a special raffle and the winner will be drawn at our October meeting.

Next General Meeting is September 17, 2012

The next meeting of Alpha Rho Tau will be held at 6:30 Monday evening, September 17th, at the Hardesty Regional Library, 8316 E. 93rd St., Tulsa.

Everyone really enjoyed our August speaker, Richard Coones, amazing presentation of techniques for perspective drawing.  September’s speaker is Gil Adams who will be doing an oil demo of plein art techniques for landscapes.

Door Prizes

The lucky winner of the original Dorothy Dent oil was Jacque Gonzales!  Congratulations to Grace Coones for winning Mary Maslanka’s lovely fall oil and Mary Oswald for winning the Chagall print donated by Karin Cermak. The professional framing of our door prizes is by Jacque Gonzales, courtesy of Ziegler’s.

Our door prizes for September are gorgeous fall oil by Delores Creekmore, a perky little pig by Delores Wadsworth, and a happy scarecrow watercolor by Kathy Lamb, donated by Karen Lamb. Be sure to sign in for your winning chance.

September Hospitality News

Thank you! We appreciate all the members who signed up to be “Cookie Angels” and “Table-Scape Decorators!!”

If you are an “Angel,” please remember that we need 3 dozen sweets (brownies, mini muffins, cookies, or any treat of your choice) for the meeting.  “Decorators” plan on arriving a little early (6:15), so we can set up the table for all our “Angels” and members. Our Sept. 17th meeting “Decorator” will be Mary Oswald and our Sept. “Angels” are: Elnora Herron, Deborah Kingsbury, Maria Reynolds and Hannelore Ramanayake.

Thanks to our August “Angels”: Mary Oswald, Loretta Bailey, Carol Mulcare, and Deborah Kingsbury. Many thanks to our decorator, Jacque, for bringing a gorgeous purple silk flower arrangement.

Thanks again and we’ll see you at our September meeting!

2. Due to changes in procedures at the library, we need some able-bodied men to help set up the tables before our meeting.  We need you there at 6:00.  Won’t you please volunteer?
