SHOW REMINDERS

Hardesty Miniature Show: All miniatures are due at the Hardesty Library on Monday, April 2nd between 9:30 & 10:30.

ART Fest: The Tulsa Art Center has moved to a larger location (in the same shopping center). Their address now is 6808 Memorial, Ste.236. Since they have a larger location, we can now increase the entry size measurement to a maximum of 30” x 36”, outside dimension.  Our entry deadline for this show is April 16th and we will have some entry forms at our March 19th meeting.  We hope everyone will enter, at least one piece, so we can have a great selection for sale. More information at ART Fest Info and entry forms at ART Fest Entry Form

Alpha Rho Tau to be represented at reopening of the WaterWorks Art Center

In recent months, WaterWorks Art Center, part of Tulsa’s Park & Recreation Department, has undergone extensive renovation, including the restoration of its Annex Building, a cavernous 50x50 ft. hall to be used exclusively for the arts. On March 14, at 5:30 PM, Mayor Bartlett, community leaders and art enthusiasts, will celebrate the reopening of the Art Center. You are invited to the reopening events and following reception. See the invitation at Water Works Invitation

The Waterworks Art Center is located in Newblock Park, just west of BOK Center.  Link to a map for the Art Center at Waterworks Art Center Map

The civic art organizations in Tulsa have been asked to display works of art in the Waterworks Art Center especially for the re-opening. Alpha Rho Tau will be represented via art by Dolores Creekmore and Janie Crean.

Hospitality News

THANK YOU!  We appreciate all the members who signed up to be “Cookie Angels” and “Table-Scape Decorators!!” You will receive a call or an email as a reminder each month before our meeting.

If you are an “Angel,” please remember that we need 3 dozen sweets (brownies, mini muffins, cookies, or any treat of your choice) for the meeting.  “Decorators” plan on arriving a little early (6:15), so we can set up the table for all our “Angels”
and members.

Our first general meeting will be March 19th and our “Decorator” will be John Fingerlin.  Our March “Angels” are: Norman Dietert, Ann Gunter, Valerie Gunter, and Clesta Manley.

Thanks again and we’ll see you on Monday, March 19th!

The raffle table

One of the ways we raise funds for the ART student scholarships is through the raffle at our monthly meetings. It is also a good way to augment your art supplies and related materials at a great price.

Check for goodies to bring for the raffle table. Items can be new or used. If everyone can bring one item, we will have a successful raffle.

If you bring art magazines, you can bundle them in 3’s. Also, brushes can be bundled in 3’s.

Art books will sell for $10 each.

Maybe you have a painting to donate to the raffle table.

Hope to see all of you at the raffle table with goodies and also to buy raffle tickets. Let’s have fun.

Want greater exposure for your art? Get on the web!

Send jpgs of your paintings to be posted on our Web Site. We’d love to have examples of your fabulous artwork. And you get world wide exposure. Just email them to Bill Oswald (m.oswald@cox.net).

April Board meeting

The April Board Meeting will be changed to Thursday, April 5th.  We will meet at Mary Oswald’s home at 10:30.  Goodies will be provided!

Looking forward to seeing you all at our March 19th meeting! J
